Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed met yesterday a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) who are in Ethiopia for the annual \u201cArticle IV Consultations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abiy\u2019s chief of staff said the\u00a0IMF<\/span>\u00a0team presented their findings on Ethiopia\u2019s economic and financial developments after which Abiy stressed his main economic priority of sustaining economic gains.<\/p>\n

Ethiopian Prime Minister told the International Monetary Fund\u00a0 (IMF)<\/span> that sustaining the country\u2019s rapid and stable economic growth was his utmost priority.<\/p>\n

The last publicised meeting the PM held with the\u00a0IMF<\/span>\u00a0was in July 2018 when he met with Christine Lagarde Managing Director of\u00a0IMF<\/span>\u00a0in Washington DC. The meeting formed part of his first diaspora tour. He also met with World Bank boss on the same trip.<\/p>\n

At the time of their meeting, Abiy\u2019s chief of staff noted that both parties had productive discussions about IMF\u2019s support for Ethiopia\u2019s reform plan and priorities.<\/p>\n

Since he was sworn-in in April 2018, Abiy\u2019s fast-paced reforms have been felt not only in the diplomatic and political circles but also very much in the economic arena.<\/p>\n
