H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun and his team held an acquaintance meeting with Professor Bruno Levecke, the coordinator of two projects funded by VLIR-UOS: Interuniversity Collaboration for Quality Graduate Education and Research (IQ-GEAR) and Ethiopian Superstars at Ghent University.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the meeting, Professor Levecke provided an overview of both projects, outlining key activities aimed at strengthening postgraduate education particularly the PHD teaching and research programs in Ethiopia. The fields of studies include but not limited to infectious diseases and nutrition. He also emphasized efforts to enhancing the advisory and mentorship capabilities of Ethiopian academic staff.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ambassador Eshete expressed his appreciation regarding the strong partnership between Ghent University and Ethiopian higher learning institutions. He commended Professor Levecke and fellow coordinators for their special commitments and contribution through the VLIR-UOS and related initiatives. The importance of deepening and expanding such educational collaborations, sustainability of financing and linking production with research has been highlighted at the meeting.<\/div>\n
