The Ethiopian Embassy in Brussels celebrated the inauguration of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), the PGUMEN 2- day of Unity and Diversity (\u12e8\u1205\u1265\u122d \u1240\u1295) and the eve of Ethiopian New Year 2018 with members of the diaspora as well as friends of Ethiopia from the Benelux countries.<\/div>\n
At the occasion religious leaders from Orthodox and Protestant Christian communities as well as Leader of the Muslim Faithful served prayers at the start of the program. H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun delivered opening remarks. He highlighted the significance of GERD for prosperity of Ethiopia and region at large. He also commended the Ethiopian diaspora for their contributions to the project.<\/div>\n
The event served both as a joyous cultural occasion and as a moment of national pride, focusing on Ethiopian historic achievements in realizing the GERD. Which is a symbol of unity and resilience the people of Ethiopia.<\/div>\n
The program featured a panel discussion that brought diaspora community to reflect on the significance of GERD for the sustainable development of Ethiopia, regional cooperation and energy security. Participants exchanged perspectives on the contribution of the dam to socio-economic transformation of Ethiopia.<\/div>\n
In recognition of the commitment and participation of the diaspora, the Embassy organized a ceremony of honoring individuals and community leaders. Their outstanding contributions to GERD through financial support, advocacy and community mobilization were praised.<\/div>\n
