Today 20 April 2026, Mr. Eshete Tilahun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Brussels met H.E. Ambassador Vincenzo Celeste, Permanent Representative of Italy to the European Union at the Italian Mission. The two Ambassadors exchanged views on Ethiopia – Italy bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual concerns as well as the long-standing and strategic partnership between the two nations.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ambassador Eshete highlighted Ethiopia\u2019s commitment for the promotion of peace, security and good governance at home and in the region. He explained the current peace and security situation in the Horn of Africa and reaffirmed that Ethiopia is serving anchor of peaceful coexistence and economic integration in the sub-region. He also underscored that the support from Italy to peace and stability of the region is of paramount importance.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

H.E. Ambassador Celeste on his part underscored that the current political and security situation in the Horn of Africa is closely monitored by Italy. He also stressed the strategic and continued cooperation between Ethiopia and Italy as well as the EU peace and development in the Horn of Africa.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Both sides reiterated their commitment to consolidate the historic ties that have rooted Ethiopia\u2013Italy relations and agreed on the need to maintaining regular communication and exchange of views on issues of mutual interests.<\/div>\n
