Ethiopian Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy arrives in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Seleshi Bekele, Ethiopia’s Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy announced on his Twitter page on Monday (February 10) that he has arrived in Washington, D.C. to review results so far by the legal and technical teams of Ethiopia negotiating with Egypt and Sudan regarding the filling and operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

“Number of articles and issues are not yet resolved, negotiation will continue tomorrow,” Seleshi tweeted.

He said the follow-up meeting of Foreign and Water Affairs Ministers with the presence of US Secretary of Treasury and World Bank is planned to commence on Wednesday.

The Minister also said the Ethiopian team will continue to work vigilantly in advancing our national interest.
