On the occasion of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, President Sahle-Work Zewde, met with the leadership of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, of which she is the patron, to discuss the national response to COVID-19. The President appreciated the key role that the society has been playing and she further encouraged them to continue their efforts. The Ethiopian Red Cross Society has been engaging in various activities to combat the spread of the Coronavirus such as spraying streets in various cities with disinfectant, mobilizing volunteers, and distributing sanitary products.
