On 29 March 2022, H.E. Ambassador Hirut Zemene had a fruitful discussion with Ms. Naomi Meulemans, a Belgian of Ethiopian origin and senior modern art conservator who is interested to support heritage conservation efforts in Ethiopia.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hirut expressed her appreciation to Ms Meulemans’ efforts in venturing on possibilities of capacity building in the field with relevant institutions in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Hirut also expressed hope this initiative will take further roots in materializing a cooperation link between Ethiopia and Belgium in Art Conservation institutions.
Ms Meulemans had initiated a promotional event to promote art conservation in Ethiopia in August 2021 which the embassy had been in attendance.
