Her Excellency Ambassador Hirut Zemene presented her letter of credence to H.E. Mr. Fernando Arias, Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (#OPCW), in The Hague, the #Netherland, on 22 June 2022.
On the occasion, the Ambassador reiterated #Ethiopia‘s consistent position in support of upholding the provisions of the #ChemicalWeaponsConvention (CWC), to which it is a party. She further appreciated the efforts of the OPCW to strengthen cooperation with African State Parties through the Africa Program.
The Director-General, on his part, appreciated the commitments of Ethiopia as well as the Africa group in general for the success of OPCW’s mission.
The two sides reiterated their commitments to better strengthen collaborations between Ethiopia and the OPCW.
Ethiopia is a founding member of the OPCW.
