Honouring the outstanding achievements of all women in Ethiopia, Africa and around the globe, the Embassy of Ethiopia in Brussels celebrated the International Women’s Day, under the theme “DigitAll: Innovation and technology for gender equality”, by taking part at the event organised by African Union Mission in Brussels today, on the 8th of March 2023.
H.E Ambassador Hirut Zemene along with female diplomats took part in the event. During the occasion, the Ambassador reiterated the importance of digital tools for women in various sectors of their preferences.
Panellists from various sectors said when women are involved in digital technology, more innovative solutions and innovations that support gender equality and satisfy to the needs of women are produced. They also emphasised the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities.
The occasion was graced by the presence of H.E. Amb. Awad Sakine Ahmat, Permanent Representative of the AU to the EU, H.E. El Hadji Alhousséini TRAORE, Ambassador of Mali, President of the African Group of Ambassadors in Brussels, H.E MOHAMED CHATUR BADAOUI, H.E. MOHAMED CHATUR BADAOUI, Ambassador of the Union of the Comoros in Belgium, Dr. Colette Fonkeu Njomgang, Deputy-Mayor for Education, Culture, Libraries and Academies, President of the Board of Directors of Senghor Cultural Center, Commune of Etterbeek and Madam Cecile Kabale, President of the African Women’s League in Brussels.
