H.E Ambassador Hirut Zemene took part in the round table discussion on Access to Finance in #Agribusiness for Female Entrepreneurs organized by the #Netherlands–#Africa Business Council (NABC) in collaboration with Atradius Dutch State Business and SIGNATURE Agri Investments in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on March 15, 2023.
The roundtable discussion aimed at offering first-hand insights on the matter and starting a discussion on how the public and private sectors might cooperate more effectively when it comes to female entrepreneurs’ access to financing, addressed the barriers to financing for female business owners that operate in the agribusiness sector and explored various solutions for enhancing their access to capital.
During the exchange session, H.E Ambassador Hirut emphasized the role of Education, vocational training, and business incubators for women in agribusiness and various sectors to make them capable of solving the problems related to access to finance. The Ambassador also reiterated access to bank services, microfinance institutions, strong gender policies, female models, and implementing the SDGs goals are crucial to addressing their primary bottlenecks in the sector.
