The Ethiopian delegation, led by Honorable Dima Nagawo, Chair of the Foreign Relations and Peace standing committee of the House of People’s Representative, is participating in the pteparatory session of the 63rd session of the Organization of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) Parliamentary Assembly. The assembly, which takes place bi-annually commenced on June 19, 2023, in Brussels.
During the session, the Ethiopian delegation participated in the meeting of the Political Affairs committee. Additionally, updates on the political situations of member countries were provided, and Ethiopia’s delegation presented a comprehensive brief on the ongoing developments in Ethiopia. The political committee chair has congratulated Ethiopia for the peace agreement reached in November 2023.
At the preparatory session. Various critical matters were discussed, including the Rules of Procedures of the OACPS-EU Joint Assembly and the three regional arrangements.
The meeting, which is currently on its third day, will continue with several more days of deliberations ahead including the 43rd Joint meeting of the OACPS-EU Parliamentary Assembly, which is scheduled to be held 24-28 of June 2023.
