Ambassador Eshete Tilahun Held meeting with EU Special Representative for Human Rights

Ambassador Eshete Tilahun held discussion with H.E. Mrs. Kajsa Ollongren, European Union Special Representative for Human Rights on 12 March 2026. The discussions, held in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Sofie From-Emmesberger, EU Ambassador to Ethiopia. Highlights been on the upcoming visit of Mrs. Kajsa Ollongren to Ethiopia and exchange of views on EU-Ethiopia partnership with respect to governance and human rights.
Discussion strengthening engagement between Ethiopia and the European Union in areas of mutual interest were underscored.
H.E. Ambassador Eshete reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights, democratic values, the rule of law, good governance and national reconciliation. The two sides agreed on the need to maintain regular exchange of views on issues of mutual concerns.
