H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun and his team from the business diplomacy section visited Ecosteryl and Comet Group, Belgian companies that work on the Circular Economy
Ambassador Eshete Tilahun visited two recycling companies in Mons, Belgium on 22 April 2026. At Ecosteryl, Ambassador Eshete took part in a round table discussion about emission-free medical waste treatment systems. which is deployed in Addis Ababa under the Clean Ethiopia Program. These technologies are currently installed and launched in three major hospitals (ALERT, St. Paulos and Tikur Anbessa) in Addis Ababa.
During the discussion, Ethiopia was showcased as a model for implementing cutting-edge technologies in medical waste recycling and treatment for representatives of brotherly African countries. Ambassador also conferred with Mr. Philippe Dufrashe, the CEO of Ecosteryl, about expanding the technology to regional cities in Ethiopia.
During his visit to Comet Group , Ambassador Eshete was briefed about the company’s integrated approach to recycling, including the different stages of processing ferrous and non-ferrous metals. He also toured facilities that handle complex end-of-life materials such as vehicles, electronic waste, and solar panels.
