On the 4th of August 2017, the House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR) of Ethiopia lifted the state of emergency imposed on the 8th of October 2016 and effective for the past ten months.
Ethiopia declared a six-month state of emergency following the security problems occurred in some parts of the country.
On 29th of March 2017, the House extended it by additional four months.
