A warm welcome to IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on the occasion of your visit to Ethiopia! We value the IMF’s continued technical and financial support for our economic reform program and appreciate immensely your personal involvement and contributions.
Ethiopia’s macroeconomic reform program, which is supported by one of the IMF’s largest financing programs, is based on a Home-Grown Vision and Reform Agenda that clearly articulates our growth and development aspirations. As such, we have strong ownership of the reforms and have been able to undertake bold, comprehensive, and historic measures to address long-standing macro challenges. The results of the program so far are positive and very encouraging. Our on-going implementation will bring macro stability, unleash growth, improve living standards, and help establish Ethiopia as an African Beacon of prosperity.
