በዝግጅቱ ክቡር አምባሳደር እሸቴ ጥላሁን ባስተላለፉት መልዕክት ልጆች ከምንጫቸው ጋር ትስስር እንዲፈጥሩ ወላጆች ሚና እንዳላቸው አንስተው፣ ዳያስፖራው በሚገኝበት ማህበረሰብ እርስበርስ መተዋወቅ፣ መተሳሰር እንዲሁም ለአገር አንድነት በጋራ መስራት አስፈላጊ መሆኑን ገልፀዋል።
በሉግዘምበርግ የኢትዮጵያ የክብር ቆንስል እና የላሜ ቦራ (ፈረንሳይኛ) ጸሃፊ ማዳም ሄኖኬ ወልደመድህን ኩርት በዝግጅቱ ባስተላለፉት መልዕክት ዳያስፖራው ለልጆች የኢትዮጵያን ባህልና እሴት በማስተማር ማሳወቅ እንዳለበትና የበለጸገ ታሪክ ባላት ኢትዮጵያ መኩራት እንደሚገባ ገልፀዋል። ከአገራችን እውቅ የልጆች ታሪኮች አንዱ የሆነውን ” ላሜ ቦራ” የተረት መፅሃፍ በፈረንሳይኛ የፃፉበትን መሰረት ሃሳብ በማብራራት ታሪኩ አንብበዋል።
በቤልጅየም ለማህበራዊ አገልግሎት የመጡት አርቲስት ንብረት ገላው ( እከ) በዝግጅቱ በመገኘት ስለ አገር ፍቅርና በጋራ ስለመስራት አስፈላጊነት ንግግር አድርገዋል። በዝግጅቱ ከተገኙ ልጆች ጋር የቡሄ ጭፈራን እንዲሁም ሌሎች ባህላዊ ጨዋታዎችን በማስተዋወቅ ታዳሚ ልጆች ባህሉን እንዲረዱ አድርገዋል።
በእለቱ ከተረት ንባብ በተጨማሪ ልጆች የራሳቸውን ሃሳብ የሚያመነጩ የሥነ-ጥበብ ስራዎችን እንዲለማመዱ ትስስር እንዲፈጥሩ ተደርጓል።

ክቡር አምባሳደር እሸቴ ጥላሁን በኔዘርላንድ ሮተርዳም ከተማና አካባቢው ከሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያዊና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊያን የሶማሌ ኮሚዩኒቲ አባላት ጋር ዛሬ ነሃሴ 4 ቀን 2017 ዓ.ም. ተወያይተዋል። ውይይቱ በአገራዊ ሰላምና ዲሞክራሲ ግንባታ፣ በኢንቨስትመንት፣ ንግድና የልማት ተሳትፎ ያተኮረ ነበር።
በመድረኩ በመልካም አስተዳደር፣ በልማትና በአገራችን ወቅታዊ ፖለቲካዊ፣ ኢኮኖሚያዊ እና ማህበራዊ ጉዳዮች ከኮሚዩኒቲው ለተነሱ ጥያቄዎች እና አስተያየቶች ክቡር አምባሳደር እሸቴ ገለፃ የሰጡ ሲሆን ዳያስፖራው ለአገራዊ ልማት ተሳትፎውን አጠናክሮ እንዲቀጥል ጥሪ አቅርበዋል።
ኢትዮጵያዊና ትውልደ-ኢትዮጵያዊ የሶማሌ ኮሚዩኒቲ አባላት የዳያስፖራውን ችግሮች በማቃለል ረገድ ሚሲዮኑ ለሚያደርገው ድጋፍ አመስግነው፣ ለታላቁ የኢትዮጵያ ህዳሴ ግድብ ማጠናቀቂያ የቦንድ ግዢ እና የስጦታ ድጋፍ አድርገዋል። ለአገር አንድነትና ልማት የሚያደርጉትን አስተዋጽኦ እንደሚያስቀጥሉም ቃል ገብተዋል።
በመድረኩ ለክቡር አምባሳደር እሸቴ ጥላሁን እና ኮሚኒቲውን ላጠናከሩ የዳያስፖራ አባላት ስጦታ እና የምስክር ወረቀት ተበርክቶላቸዋል። በተጨማሪም ኬክ የመቁረስ ስነ-ስርዓት ተከናውኖ በድምቀት ተጠናቋል።

Rotterdam, Netherlands – On 10 August 2025, H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun held a fruitful discussion with members of the Ethiopian and Ethiopian-origin Somali diaspora community. The meeting focused on strengthening national development, investment, and trade, while also addressing good governance and Ethiopia’s political, economic, and social affairs.
The community expressed strong support for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) through bond purchases and donations, reaffirming their commitment to the national flagship project. They also conveyed appreciation to the Embassy for its continued support and pledged to contribute further to Ethiopia’s unity and prosperity.
The event concluded with a vibrant ceremony, featuring the awarding of certificates to Ambassador Eshete Tilahun and diaspora members in recognition of their contributions to community strengthening.

Bahir Dar/Brussels, 30 July 2025- H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun delivered remarks at the “Workshop on the Ethics of Curating African Collections,” co-organized by the Africa Museum (Belgium) and Bahir-Dar University Museum Project (Ethiopia). Addressing curators, scholars, and heritage professionals, Ambassador Eshete emphasized the critical role of ethics, restitution, and international collaboration in preserving Africa’s cultural legacy.
The Ambassador commended the joint efforts between Belgian and Ethiopian institutions, calling them a model for future partnerships. He accent Ethiopia’s longstanding diplomatic ties with Belgium, dating back to 1906, and pointed to upcoming cultural events, including the proposed exhibition “High Voltage and Highlights: Ethiopia and Belgium.”
He highlighted Ethiopia’s robust legal framework for heritage protection, its engagement in international conventions like UNESCO’s 1970 treaty, and recent successful restitution efforts, including the return of sacred and royal artifacts from the United Kingdom.
Ambassador Eshete also called on curators not only to preserve but to actively help restore Africa’s looted heritage, and to amplify African narratives globally. He urged further action in four key areas: deepening Ethiopia-Belgium heritage collaboration, elevating the historical significance of artifacts, strengthening legal frameworks, and raising up public understanding and systemic ownership of cultural heritage.

The representatives explained about the growing importance of the Waste Management Industry, which is even more vital for big and populous countries like Ethiopia. They also expressed their willingness to work with Ethiopian partners.
Ambassador Eshete, on his part, presented to the representatives the existing demands for investments in the Waste Management and Mining Sectors of Ethiopia. He assured the representatives the Embassy’s readiness to facilitate business ties with Ethiopia.

Ambassador Eshete Tilahun briefed Mr. Kurt Vandenberghe on the upcoming the Second African Climate Summit (ACS2) and highlighted Ethiopia’s Flagship Climate Initiatives. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between Ethiopia and the European Union in the area of Climate Action cooperation in the context of the Global Gateway Initiative.
Mr. Vandenberghe appreciated Ethiopia’s green growth commitments and commended efforts in advancing a climate-smart initiatives. He also mentioned the EU’s interest to partnership with Ethiopia in carbon pricing and carbon markets projects.
Both officials agreed to maintain open and constructive dialogue on issues of mutual concern for Ethiopia and European Union in climate related matters.

On 22 July 2025, H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun took part in the “Ethiopian Green Treasures” conference, held at the National Museum of Natural History of Luxembourg. The event was organized by Madame Henoke Courte, Honorary Consul of Ethiopia, in collaboration with the NGO Regards d’Enfants d’Éthiopie.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Eshete highlighted Ethiopia’s rich botanical diversity, emphasizing the country’s cultural conservation heritage, ecological practices from mountain to the desert, and key government initiatives such as the Green Legacy. He also underscored the importance of research and academic forums in advancing the recognition and protection of intellectual property rights including the traditional conservation practices. He noted the need to combating biopiracy.
The event featured a presentation by Ms. Odile Weber, a researcher at the National Museum of Natural History of Luxembourg, who showcased her study on Ethiopia’s floral wealth, with a particular focus on endemic plant species. Her insightful presentation was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session, fostering interesting exchanges about #Ethiopia among participants.

On 18 July 2025, Ambassador Eshete Tilahun met with Deputy Director-General of DG Environment Mr. Patrick Child to discuss preparation of the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2) and the implications of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Ambassador Eshete reaffirmed Ethiopia’s strong commitment to climate action, highlighting national initiatives such as the Green Legacy Initiative, a major environmental campaign focused on enhancing ecological resilience through large-scale tree planting. He explained the legislation to ban the use, manufacture, and distribution of single-use plastic bags and shifting to electric vehicles by banning gas-powered car imports.
He also noted Ethiopia’s leadership role in continental climate efforts, including preparations for the upcoming Africa Climate Summit, to be held in Addis Ababa, from 5 to 7 September 2025 pre-summit and from 8 to 10 September 2025.
During the discussion, Ambassador Eshete stressed that the EUDR could significantly affect small-holder farmers, especially with in the Ethiopian coffee chain, where production is closely tied to forest-based and household-level systems. He emphasized the urgent need for technical support and context-sensitive compliance procedures to ensure smooth implementation.
Mr. Child acknowledged these concerns and reaffirmed that while the EUDR is a legal requirement for all countries, the EU stands ready to provide technical assistance and information to help Ethiopia navigate the transition effectively.

H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun, had a constructive exchange of views with H.E Anna-Maria BOURA, Chief Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the European Council on 17 July 2025.
Ambassador Eshete explained Ethiopia’s preparations on hosting the two High Level Summits; The 4th United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4) and the African Union Climate Summit 2, scheduled to be held in July and September 2025 respectively in Addis Ababa.
During the discussion, Ambassador Eshete addressed critical regional developments including the peace and security of the horn, reaffirming Ethiopia’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and economic integration in the sub-region. He highlighted the country’s proactive efforts towards interdependence and cooperation for mutual benefit. He also conveyed Ethiopia’s perspectives on policies that could impact mobility and collaboration with the European Union.
Chief Advisor BOURA underlined, Ethiopia’s role as an anchor state to bring peace and stability to the region, and also acknowledged the stance on peaceful co-existence. She reiterated the EU’s support for regional stability and development.

H.E. Mr. Eshete Tilahun, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the European Union and the BENELUX countries, held a productive discussion on July 10, 2025, with H.E. Ambassador Rita Laranjinha, Managing Director for Africa at the European External Action Service. The meeting focused on a wide range of bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.
Ambassador Eshete briefed Ambassador Laranjinha on Ethiopia’s preparations to host the 4th United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4) and requested for response on the matter for high-level participation from European Union institutions. He also called for strong EU engagement in the upcoming African Union Climate Summit, to be held in September 2025 in Addis Ababa.
The two sides discussed pressing regional developments, including the crisis in the Sudan, the situation in Somalia, and broader issues related to migration and visa policies. Ambassador Eshete conveyed Ethiopia’s concerns over restrictive policies that could hinder movement and cooperation.
Ambassador Eshete also raised the impact of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) on Ethiopian agricultural exports, emphasizing the need for fair and development-sensitive implementation to protect smallholder farmers. Ambassador Laranjinha acknowledged these concerns and expressed the EU’s position to continued technical dialogue to ensure balanced and practical solutions.
On regional security, He reaffirmed Ethiopia’s firm commitment to peaceful coexistence, highlighting the government’s deliberate efforts to de-escalate any tensions. Ambassador Laranjinha commended Ethiopia’s position on de-escalation and emphasized the EU’s support for regional stability and constructive engagement.

The Secretary General briefed H.E. Ambassador Eshete about the objective and contribution of the ICMM work in the Military Medicine. He also stressed that the organization is committed to the exchange of knowledge not bound by geographical and ideological boundaries.
Ambassador Eshete underscore the importance of strengthening Medical knowledge sharing in the Military Field and stated Ethiopia’s contribution in various Peacekeeping Missions.
