The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, H. E. Gedu Andargachew met with U.S. Secretary Of State H.E. Michael R. Pompeo on Wednesday (December 11) in Washington.
The two discussed Ethiopia’s important role in ensuring peace and security in sub-Saharan Africa and in achieving durable solutions to regional issues.
Aside from giving detailed explanations on the sweeping reforms, the Ethiopian Government is undertaking, Mr. Gedu also briefed Secretary Pompeo Ethiopia’s rationale behind building #GERD which stood on the principles of fair and reasonable utilization of water resources.
Secretary Pompeo reiterated U.S. support for Ethiopia’s political and economic reforms.
