A delegation from Ethiopia, led by the President of the Amhara Regional Supreme Court, Honourable Mr. Alemante Agedew, held productive discussions in The Hague on 26 and 27 March 2026. The President met with Mr. Garth Schofield, Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), and Ms. Anna Vasilieva, Deputy Secretary-General of The Hague Academy of International Law.
The discussions focus on a strategic plan to establish Ethiopia as a center for arbitration and to develop a centralized judicial complex in the Amhara region.
During the visit, the delegation also toured historic and architecturally significant sites in Antwerp and Brussels. In Brussels, Mr. Alemante met with and briefed staff of the Embassy of Ethiopia, there by concluding the visit in the Belgium and the Netherlands.
