Ethio-Belgium Arts and Culture Exhibition kicks off in Brussels

Today, 04 July 2026, the Embassy of Ethiopia in Brussels, in partnership with the Africa Museum, conducted inaugural event of an Art and Cultural Exhibition in the context of commemorating of 120th anniversary of Ethiopia–Belgium diplomatic relations.
The Exhibition brought together government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, academics, artists, researchers, the Ethiopian community to celebrate the longstanding Ethio-Belgian bilateral relations built on mutual respect, cultural exchange and friendship.
H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun and H.E. Mr. Bart Ouvry, Director-General of the Africa Museum, officially opened the exhibition, highlighting the important role of culture in strengthening international friendship and promoting people to people ties.
Ambassador Eshete emphasized that diplomacy is not sustained by treaties alone but through people-to-people relations including through art and cultural exchange.
The opening session was followed by presentations on cultural heritage conservation and guided tours that showcased Ethiopian historical photographs and cultural artifacts.
The Embassy extends its sincere appreciation to the Africa Museum, all partners, researchers, artists, and guests whose valuable contributions made this celebration a great success.
The exhibition remains open for two days. We invite everyone to visit and discover the rich history and shared cultural heritage connecting Ethiopia and Belgium.
