H.E Ambassador Eshete Tilahun meets with H.E. Ambassador Miia Lahti
Ambassador Eshete had a meeting with Ambassador Miia, Representative of Finland to the European Union Political and Security Committee (EUPSC) today 2 November 2026. The discussion held prior to Ambassador Lahti upcoming visit to Addis Ababa from 4 to 6 November 2026. During the meeting, the two officials, exchanged views on the current peace, security and development situation in the Horn of Africa, and the bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Finland. Ambassador Eshete briefed Ambassador Miia on the situation in Northern Ethiopia, underscoring that Eritrea’s flagrant violation of international law. He highlighted the Ethiopian government’s priority of ensuring the well-being of its people, achieving a peaceful resolution of conflicts and fostering regional integration. Ambassador Lahti on her part emphasised the need for sustained engagement and constructive dialogue to advance peace, reiterating Finland’s backing for regional stability, development and humanitarian services. Both sides underscored the importance of continued consultation and cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
