በቤኔሉክስ አገሮች እና በአውሮፓ ህብረት የኢ.ፌ.ዲ.ሪ. አምባሳደርና ዲፕሎማቶች ቤኔሉክስ ከሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያውያን እና ትውልደ-ኢትዮጵያውያን ጋር 129ኛውን የአድዋ ድል በዓል “ዓድዋ የጥቁር ህዝቦች ድል” በሚል መሪ ሃሳብ በድምቀት አክብረዋል።
በበዓሉ አከባበር ላይ የቤኔሉክስ አገራት እና የአውሮፓ ህብረት ተቋማት የኢ.ፌ.ዲ.ሪ. ባለሙሉ ስልጣን አምባሳደር ክቡር እሸቴ ጥላሁን አድዋ ለጥቁር ህዝቦች የአሸናፊነት ተምሳሌት በመሆን ነፃ ለመውጣት በተካሄዱ ትግሎች መነቃቃት የፈጠረ ታላቅ ድል መሆኑን አስታውሰው፣ የዛሬው ትውልድ እንደ አድዋ የታላቁን ህዳሴ ግድብና ሌሎችም የሰንደቅ ዓላማ ፕሮጀክቶችን እና የሀገር መለያ ምልክቶችን በመገንባት የኢትዮጵያን ክብር ከፍ ማድረግ እንዳለበት፣ ሉዓላዊነትን እና ብሄራዊ ክብርን የማስጠበቅ ኃላፊነት በምንም ዓይነት ፈተና ወይም የፖለቲካ ፍላጎት ለድርድር እንደማይቀርብ ገልፀዋል።
በዓሉን የታደሙ ኢትዮጵያውያን እና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያን የአድዋ ድል የዓለምን የጦርነትና የአሸናፊነት ታሪክ የቀየረ መሆኑን፣ አባቶቻችን ጠብቀው ያቆዩትን ነፃነትና ክብር አስቀጥሎ መሄድ እንደሚገባ፣ ትውልዱ የህዳሴውን ግድብ በማጠናቀቅ ድህነትን ማሸነፍና ለአፍሪካውያን ብሎም ለጥቁር ህዝብ የልማት ተምሳሌት መሆን እንዳለበት ገልፀዋል።
በዓሉ የአገራችን ብሔራዊ መዝሙር በመዘመር የተጀመረ ሲሆን፣ ስለታላቁ የአድዋ ድል የሚያትት መነሻ ጽሁፍ ለበዓሉ ታዳሚዎች ቀርቦ ውይይት ተደርጎበታል። በመነሻ ጽሑፉ የዓድዋ ድል የአያቶችን የዓላማ ፅናት እና አትንኩኝ ባይነት የታየበት፣ የውስጥ ልዩነቶችን በመቀነስ የውጭ ጠላትን በጋራ ድል በማድረግ መስዋእትነት የተከፈለበት እንደሆን ተገልጿል። በጀግንነትና በብዙ መስዋዕትነት የተገኘ የጋራ ድል መሆኑ ተወስቷል። ድሉን የሚዘክር ግጥምና ሽለላ በሁለት ሴት የዳያስፖራ አባላት ቀርቧል። ሁለት አንጋፋ የዳያስፖራ አባላት ደግሞ አድዋ ከነተጽእኖ አድራሽነቱ መከበር ያለበት የጥቁር ህዝቦች ድል እንደሆነ አስረድተዋል።
በመቀጠል ለበዓሉ የተዘጋጀውን ኬክ በመቁረስ ፣ የባህላዊ ምግቦች እና የቡና መስተንግዶ ተከናውኖ በዓሉ በቤኔሉክስ ከሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያውያን፣ ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያን እና የኢትዮጵያ ወዳጆች ጋር በተጀመረበት ሁኔታ በድምቀት ተጠናቅቋል።

The Embassy held a Discussion with the Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg
H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun and his delegation paid a courtesy call and held substantive discussion meeting with Mr. Carlo THELEN, the CEO/Director General of the Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg and Mr. Thomas Bertrand, Senior Advisor at the Chamber on 27 February 2025.
During the discussion, Ambassador Eshete presented an overview of Ethiopia’s ongoing political and economic reforms, emphasizing the opportunities these changes present for foreign investors. The meeting was focused on strengthening partnership, trade and investment ties between Ethiopia and Luxembourg. Identifying key sectors where Luxembourg could play significant role in the economic development.
Mr. Thelen and his team noted the strong link the chamber has with the Ethiopian Embassy and recalled the trade/business mission to Ethiopia in 2016. The importance of promoting trade and investment opportunities to members of the chamber and continued engagements were stressed by both sides. Prior to the meeting Ambassador Eshete briefly met with Mr. Fernand Ernster, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg.

H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun, accompanied by his delegation held a courtesy meeting with Mr. Andrew McDowell, Director General of the European Investment Bank (EIB) – Global and his team on 27 February 2025.
After brief introduction during the meeting Mr. McDowell and his team have provided an overview of the EIB’s operations, highlighting the strategic presence of the bank in Ethiopia’s key sectors. The priority sectors being finance, energy, infrastructure, water and agriculture. They elaborated on the ongoing and upcoming projects, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to support and work with Ethiopia. Particular attention drawn to the economic development through sustainable investments and financing partnerships.
Ambassador Eshete on his part expressed his appreciation for the bank’s long-lasting collaboration with Ethiopia and the role of EIB in financing development initiatives and specific project. He provided insights into Ethiopia’s priority sectors as major drivers of growth and development of the country. He also outlined key areas where further cooperation could be strengthened. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of sustained financial support and technical assistance to drive Ethiopia’s economic development. In the context of the country’s ongoing reform, EU’s Global Gateway, the depth investment and business opportunities for entrepreneurs from European countries and Ethiopia are explored. The officials agreed to consult and exchange information regularly.

Ambassador Eshete Tilahun, along with his Delegation, held a meeting with Ms. Valérie Heyman, the Deputy Director for Political Affairs and Africa Director at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Also in attendance was H.E. Mrs. Jeanne Crauser, the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Ethiopia.
At the meeting, Ambassador Eshete expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and acknowledged the importance of the ongoing capacity-building cooperation in the financial sector. He then outlined his key priorities, emphasizing the need to strengthen existing collaborations while exploring new avenues of partnership between Ethiopian and Luxembourg institutions.
Ms. Heyman affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation. Both sides highlighted the importance of working closely to identify and implement new opportunities for engagement across various sectors. Prior to the meeting Ambassador Eshete briefly met with Ms. Véronique Dockendorf, the Director for Political affairs at the Ministry.

H.E. Eshete Tilahun presented his credentials to His Royal Highness Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg at the Grand Ducal Court.

During the meeting, Ambassador Eshete expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and cooperation between Ethiopia and Luxembourg. He also highlighted the key priorities of his tenure which include further strengthening the capacity building cooperation in the financial sector, enhancing people-to-people ties and promoting trade, investment and tourism between the two countries.

His Royal Highness Prince Guillaume on his part assured Luxembourg’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation and assured the Ambassador of the Government of Luxembourg’s full support in advancing mutually beneficial collaboration.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his delegation held a visit to Mogadishu, Somalia, earlier today. The two leaders held extensive discussions, building on previous engagements to strengthen bilateral relations. Their talks focused on peace and security, the economy, diplomacy, and opportunities for joint infrastructure development.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized the region’s immense potential for cooperation and mutual benefit, stating:
“The Horn of Africa is rich in resources—fertile lands, fresh water, and human capital. Yet, as a region, we struggle to feed ourselves. This makes integration essential to achieving our shared aspirations.”
The Prime Minister and his delegation have concluded their visit and returned to Ethiopia.

H.E. Eshete Tilahun presented his copy of credentials accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, to H.E. Ambassador Oliver Baldauff, the Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
During the meeting, Ambassador Eshete expressed his readiness to work closely with the Ministry to further strengthen relations and existing cooperation between Ethiopia and Luxembourg. He also outlined the key priorities of his tenure.
Emphasizing the commitment to fostering strong and friendly ties between Ethiopia and Luxembourg, Ambassador Baldauff on his part, welcomed him and assured Him of the Ministry’s support for his success.

H.E. Ambassador Eshete Tilahun, along with staff of the Embassy of Ethiopia in Brussels, visited the Africa Museum on 25 February 2025 as part of efforts to enhance cultural and scientific collaboration.

During the visit, the delegation engaged in discussions with Mr. Bart Ouvry, Managing Director of the Africa Museum Tervuren and his team. The Managing Director provided briefing on the Museum’s extensive work, including its exhibitions, historical research, and the work of its scientific research center. He also elaborated on potential areas of cooperation between the Museum and Ethiopian institutions.
Ambassador Eshete expressed gratitude for the invitation and warm hospitality extended to the Embassy staff. The Ambassador highlighted key areas where the Ethiopian Embassy and the Museum could collaborate in the future, emphasizing preservation efforts. He further expressed Embassy’s desire to establish research partnerships, knowledge sharing and exchanges including demonstration of cultural artifacts.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer ties through joint initiatives that promote African heritage and scientific exploration. In that regard to hold technical consultation.

Ambassador Eshete Tilahun held a courtesy meeting with H.E. Mohammed Al Sahlawi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union on 24 February 2025.
During the meeting, Ambassador Eshete acknowledged and appreciated the depth and positive impacts of Ethiopia- UAE partnership. Both Ambassadors reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening bilateral collaboration in key areas of shared interest through their respective missions in Brussels.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Gedion Timothewos held productive discussions with High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, kaja kallas in Johannesburg, on the margins of the ongoing G20 Ministerial meeting.
They discussed bilateral ties and exchanged views on national, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
On the ocassion, Dr. Gedion reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to revitalizing it’s longstanding relations with the EU.
