The Embassy participated in the 35th Governing Council Annual Meeting of the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC)
The 35th Governing Council meeting of the Common Fund for Commodities took place on November 21 – 22 2023 at the Hague, Netherlands. The Governing Council deliberated on how to strengthen its position in supporting the commodity producing countries in terms of know how, value addition and sustainable market. The Governing Council also re-elected H.E. Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Belal of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh as the managing director of the CFC to serve for the next four years and H.E. Mrs. Margaret Wambui Ngugi Shava, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Netherlands to be the chair of the Governing Council for the year 2024.
Promotion of Ethiopian Investment and Trade Nov 16, 2023 Netherlands
On November 16, 2023 Ethiopian Embassy in Brussels represented by Deputy Head of Mission, H.E Ambassador Shamebo Fitamo took part in a yearly Ambassadors’ Dinner 2023 in Wassenaar, Netherlands organized by the Netherlands Africa Business Council (NABC). The program is aiming to promote investment and trade between Africa and Netherlands specially capitalizing on Emerging Markets in Africa. In the event Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), 24 African Ambassadors and other Diplomats, 150 Netherlands companies and others took part in the program.
Ms. Rosmarijn Fens, Managing Director of NBAC delivered a keynote speech. Following a speech Presentation on African partnership, Doing Business in Africa (DBA) Award, Matchmaking and Dinner Networking were parts of the event.
The Post Cotonou OACPS-EU Partnership (Samoa Agreement) Launched
The new Post Cotonou partnership agreement between the OACPS and the EU was inked during the 46th OACPS-EU Council of Ministers Session at Apia, Samoa. The Post Cotonou Partnership agreement has been agreed to be named as Samoa Agreement. Ethiopia was represented by H.E. Ambassador Hirut Zemene at the council session and during the signing ceremony.

H.E. Hirut Zemene addressed the VWIO a business association in Wetteren municipality on Tuesday (8 November 2023).
